Prime-Minister Discusses Armenian Reforms with Representatives of the Yerevan School of Political Studies 09/07/2012 On 30 June 2012, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, Tigran Sargsyan, met with 40 participants and alumni of the Yerevan School of Political Studies.

The Head of Government delivered a lecture on the global developments, challenges and remedies.

The meeting discussed the government program of 2012-2017, touching on the ongoing reforms and target areas, on which the participants of the meeting presented their own opinions.

The Prime Minister said the middle class is a basic prerequisite for the development and strengthening of the State. The Armenian authorities were said to have the political will necessary for solving the problem. “If we fail to raise the middle class in our country, we will face serious problems on the way to building a civil society. This is sought with the tools proposed in our program considering that strong statehood implies a strong middle class,” the Prime Minister emphasized.

The meeting was attended by Head of the EU Delegation in Armenia, Ambassadors of Bulgaria, Poland, Romania, Greece as well as representatives of different embassies.

At the end of the meeting the Prime Minister thanked the participants for their contributions which could be helpful to the Government’s activities.
