Challenges of Local Democracy in the Western Balkans

The first seminar “Challenges of Local Democracy in the Western Balkans” of the second year of the School of Local Democracy in the Western Balkans will be held in Bečići, Montenegro, from 3 to 6 February 2011 and will assemble 40 locally elected representatives and officials of the region.
Mr Ivan Brajovic, Minister of the Interior and Public Administration of Montenegro, will deliver a welcoming speech.
Decentralisation, the legal framework of local self-government, economic development and the fight against corruption, efficiency of public services and citizens’ participation at the local level will be the main topics discussed during the seminar.
